Welcome Spark to Sunday Drive Records

Posted on March 24th, 2021

We are pleased to welcome Germany straight edge hardcore band, Spark to Sunday Drive Records. Spark formed in 2017 by a group of friends with the initial goal to write in the style of passionate ‘00s hardcore that they grew up with. The German straight edge hardcore band released a demo that year that perfectly captured this sound—taking on influences from early- ‘00s youth crew/hardcore bands like Carry On, Have Heart, and In My Eyes. Their music delivers much more than this though. Throughout their 2017 Demo and 2019 Split w/ Chain Reaction (Control Records), Spark has established an overall theme with their music. To precisely capture this, vocalist Andy Villhauer states, “It’s not straight edge, it’s confronting yourself with troubling questions and issues. Trying to find answers and solutions to become a better person in the end.”

Their new LP Promo is available to order now along with a hoodie. New LP coming later this summer on Control Records (EU) and Sunday Drive Records (USA).

Welcome Utmost to Sunday Drive Records

Posted on January 28th, 2021

We are pleased to welcome NY’s hardcore band, Utmost to Sunday Drive Records. Their new single, "Big Dose" is out today and you can watch their music video now over at No Echo.

Utmost is a hardcore band from Staten Island, New York that formed in 2018 by members Alex Allen, Jonathan Wisniewski, and Alex Michael Mazzie. Utmost at heart is a hardcore band, yet sonically, their music explores a wide range of influences from 90s post-hardcore bands like Seaweed and Farside, to early 00’s straight-forward hardcore like Mental and Battery with a mix of chaotic metalcore like Botch and The Chariot. The result is Utmost— high-energy, fun, upbeat, sometimes chaotic hardcore with 90’s alternative melodies. After releasing a few singles and their 2018 debut LP, “A Garden, A Grave”, Utmost is ready for 2021 with new music and a refreshed sound to share, starting on January 29 with the single, ‘Big Dose’.

We also have a pre-order for new longsleeves available on the SDR store. More music & merch coming soon.

“Music For November Vol.6” Out Now

Posted on November 6th, 2020

Our annual compilation album, “Music For November” is out today, only on Bandcamp. Vol.6 features new music/covers/demos from GLARE, Photographic Memory, Anxious Arms, New Design, Weathering, and more.

The reason the comp has continued to exists is to raise funds for an important charity. This year, Texas lost a couple of very important people in our scene—Riley Gale & Wade Allison. Recently, Dallas Hope Center announced a new org in Riley’s name, called The Riley Gale Library.

Dallas Hope Charities provides food, shelter, and services that instill dignity, stability, and hope for all. The Dallas Hope Center is the city’s only LGBTQ-focused Homeless Youth Transitional Living Center and extension program. By helping provide inclusive spaces for at-risk, homeless LGBTQ youth (18 to 24), the Dallas Hope Center hopes to change the lives of those who experience high rates of conduct disorder, post-traumatic stress, and suicidal behavior.

The Riley Gale Library will be a place that each resident can go to access a variety of books, request books they are interested in that we will provide, and socialize with one another. They have already begun building a collection of books and are still accepting donations to complete their library, which this comp will help to do. You can learn more here.
